North American esports organization Golden Guardians continues to make changes. After the rebrand of the team, which saw the old logo and colors being updated, an announcement of three new esports rosters followed. The team went from having two League of Legends rosters—one in the LCS and one Academy team—to also boasting an Apex Legends, World of Warcraft and Teamfight Tactics roster.
The Apex Legends roster is comprised of Deston "Bronzey" Nguyen, Timothy "iiTzTimmy" An, and Devon "Pfitter" Self. With the team, Golden Guardians is likely to target EA's recently announced 3 million dollar Apex Legends pro circuit in 2020—an open ecosystem culminating in a $1 million world championship at the end of the road.
Carlos "Absterge" Correa, Jason "Pikaboo" Smith, Conner "Wizk" Torrence" and Vincent "Jellybeans" Tran will make up the Guardians' World of Warcraft Arena roster. Although Blizzard Entertainment has not announced plans for the 2020 season yet, the game has been rising in popularity over the past years.
Prominent Teamfight Tactics players Andrew "TidesofTime" Biessener, Rebecca "Becca" Cho and Jeffrey "DeliciousMilkGG" Pan have been brought on board to compete and stream under the Golden Guardians banner. Teamfight Tactics esports is still very young—the game mode was released in June this year—but Riot Games has announced that it has plans to grow the autobattler's competitive scene.
