Prior to speaking with Daniel Sussman, Inven Global's Nick D'Orazio reached out to the music gaming community for questions that Fuser's Project Manager could provide answers to ahead of the game's release. The questions and answers below have been formatted for clarity.
"play the game defensively, neutralizing the strongest discs on the opposing side, and creating opportunities for free damage whenever possible by using the timing of the damage meter. "
"Fuser is closer to the thing it's simulating than any music game before"
We showed Video Game Music remix artists and music producers Grimecraft and GlitchXcity a wide variety of Fuser mixes to see how they felt about the game's ability to inspire music creation and teach fundamentals about DJ'ing and live set performance.
Fuser is a game about creating music and expressing individual style as if the player was a real DJ performing live. Often described as both a musical toy and a video game, we wanted to see how an experienced rhythm game player experiences Fuser for the first time.
I was shown a more complete version of the game at Harmonix Studios and I was blown away.
