The 2020 Call of Duty League is set to debut in January 2020, and the league’s format for its inaugural season will feature a myriad of tournaments in various hometowns belonging to the franchises who have invested in COD for the foreseeable future.
Kroenke Sports & Entertainment has secured a spot in Activision-Blizzard's upcoming Call of Duty Franchise League. Due to Immortals Gaming Club also owning a CoD franchise, the rivalry established between the Los Angeles Valiant and Los Angeles Gladiators in the Overwatch League will have a chance to expand into an entirely different esport.
Activision-Blizzard will be marching another step forward in the development of the Call of Duty franchise with "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare", which will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 25, 2019. Adopting a 'fresh and familiar' approach, Infinity Ward stripped Modern Warfare down to its roots that made Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare a franchise-altering title that defined an era of online multiplayer gaming and re-optimized the experience for the modern generation.
