Popular streamer Herschel "Dr. Disrespect" Beahm IV and OpTic Gaming owner Hector “H3cz” Rodriguez were accused by fans of tripping Golden State Warriors star point guard Steph Curry during game three of the NBA Western Conference Finals.
Gaming personalities Dr. Disrespect and H3cz were in attendance to watch the Dallas Mavericks take on the Golden State Warriors at the American Airlines Stadium, but ended up finding themselves inches away from a tumbling Steph Curry.
In the video, H3cz, a native of Dallas, Texas, was seen standing by the courtside sidelines before raising his hands as the superstar point guard fell in front of him. Shortly after the game, H3cz sent out a simple tweet stating, “It wasn’t me” in response to the video. As for Dr. Disrespect, his response to the madness was a similarly blunt tweet stating, “I didn’t trip Steph Curry”.
As a result of their close proximity to the NBA star, the community was quick to jokingly blame the two gaming personalities for tripping Steph Curry.
Who actually tripped Steph Curry?
It was revealed that the person who actually tripped Steph Curry in the final moments of the second quarter was a Mavericks drink and snack vendor. During the post-game press conference, Steph Curry responded to the trip. “There was 30 seconds before halftime if you order a drink, just wait until halftime,” Curry said. “I don’t know why you needed that then. Thankfully I was alright."
Curry followed that up by making light of the entire situation by letting media know that, he was alright, and that he hoped the vendor got a “big tip”. The Golden State Warriors ended up taking the game over the Dallas Mavericks to put themselves up 3-0 in the Western Conference Finals. Their next game will take place tomorrow, May 24, where the Golden State Warriors will have an opportunity to clinch the series.
