Baek “Fissure” Chan-
Despite retiring only four months ago, Fissure revealed that he was seriously contemplating coming out of retirement to play professionally in the Overwatch League once again. Fissure described the chances along the lines of '50-50, but leaning towards coming back pro play.'
Fissure also stated that while he remains undecided, his reason for leaving towards a return is that he's received interest from an 'unbelievable' team, and therefore, implying the opportunity may be too great to pass up.
Fissure also said on his stream that he had received an offer from London Spitfire during the off-season. Spitfire and Fissure parted ways after the C9 franchise won the very first Stage Playoffs to become the 2018 OWL Stage 1 Champions. Spitfire would eventually be crowned the inaugural OWL champion, and Fissure would have to settle for a top 6 finish in an MVP-caliber season with the Los Angeles Gladiators.
However, Spitfire has released the majority of its roster following the 2019 Overwatch League season, including DPS stars Park "Profit" Joon-yeong, Kim "birdring" Ji-hyeok, and immaculate Tank player Hong "Gesture" Jae-hee, the latter of whom Fissure split starting time with on Spitfire.
Since Gesture's presence was the primary factor in Fissure's move to the Los Angeles Gladiators, it would make sense that Spitfire would want to enlist a familiar talent like Fissure to rebuild the team. However, Fissure said that he would rather complete his mandatory military service than join London Spitfire again, and went on later in the stream to say that the team's roster 'looks fun'.
One of the biggest questions of the off-season is where Ryu "ryujehong" Je-hong, Support and Captain of Seoul Dynasty, will take his talents for the 2020 season. Fissure didn't reveal where ryujehong was heading, but he did confirm that the team he would be transferring to for the next season competed in the 2019 Overwatch League Playoffs. Fissure also said that the season 3 roster of Philadelphia Fusion looks strong. Could Fusion be the aforementioned 'unbelievable' team?
Fissure has always had a flair for the dramatic, and this stream was no different. Fissure cryptically stated that there was huge, "NUCLEAR-level" news coming that would essentially turn the entire Free Agent and Transfer market of OWL on its ear and permanently chnange the course of the off-season.
