Blizzard released a new animated short, “Shooting Star”, which features D.Va, one of the most beloved heroines from their popular FPS game, Overwatch, at the Overwatch Fan Festival taking place in South Korea, August 22nd-23rd.

The short takes place in Busan, one of the biggest cities in South Korea, and tells the backstory of how D. Va sacrificed her everyday life as a 19-year old in order to protect what she loves -- her country and its people. Not only were the Overwatch fans able to see the pressure D.Va experiences as someone charged with protecting her entire country, but they also get a full display of her bravery and perseverance as she desperately fights to protect her home from the hostile omnics called ‘Gwi-shin’ (‘귀신’ “Ghost” in Korean) that have risen up from the water. Players will also be able to catch a glimpse of other members of MEKA in the animated short.
