"She has been a ton of fun to play with these changes, and we're looking forward you letting you guys play with them as well. Hopefully, we'll have a new PTR up soon!"
This was the last sentence of the surprising post made by Overwatch Principal Designer, Geoff Goodman, today on the battle.net forums. Responding to a thread titled "D.va Rework ideas", Goodman casually revealed huge D.Va changes that are currently being tested on Blizzards internal test client.
These changes include:
- Defense Matrix Energy drain increased by 2x
- D.Va can now fire her primary attack while flying with Boosters.
- A new ability called Micro Missiles. This ability can be fired while using all of her other abilities and while D.Va is shooting her primary Fusion Cannons.
It's not common for Blizzard to add entirely new abilities in the game, and the ones proposed in Goodman's post would completely revamp D.Va and her style of play. With such increased firepower and offensive capabilities, Goodman ensures that D.Va would be capable of "more aggressive play" and enjoy "new options versus heroes, such as Phara."
With Junkrat receiving major buffs and now this, it looks as if the Overwatch team is becoming more liberal with how drastically they are changing our beloved roster of Heroes.
