Mahjong Soul Welcomes Fate/stay Night Heroes in Limited-Time Crossover

Mahjong Soul has launched a limited-time collaboration with the anime film trilogy Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel], bringing its iconic characters and themed content to the popular online mahjong title. The crossover went live April 22, 2025, following routine server maintenance, and will run through May 13 at 1:59 p.m. Pacific (UTC-7).

Players can summon Sakura Matou, Saber, Rin Tohsaka and Archer under boosted drop rates in two special banners, “Sakura Collab” and “Bamboo Collab.” Each character arrives with unique voice work and custom animations. In addition to the new avatars, the update adds Fate-inspired table skins, tile-back designs, Riichi and winning effects, and a dramatic animated backdrop for matches, all obtainable only during the event period.

The in-game shop now offers animated “Fated Night” outfits for each collab hero. These limited costumes provide exclusive visual effects when equipped and can only be purchased while the crossover remains active. Outfits must be tied to their corresponding characters and will disappear from the store once the event concludes.

A thematic mini-event called the Sparrow Cup also debuted with the update. In this challenge mode, participants guide the character Ichihime through training trials and compete in a special “Riichi Siege” match format. Completing event missions awards players with collectible illustrations, background art, summon scrolls and boost items to enhance gameplay.

Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] adapts the third route of Type-Moon’s visual novel, focusing on the Sakura Matou storyline. Produced by animation studio ufotable and directed by veteran Tomonori Sudo, the trilogy began with “Presage Flower” in 2017, which attracted nearly one million viewers in Japanese theaters. Subsequent chapters continue the dark and emotional narrative that has captivated fans worldwide.

Mahjong Soul, operated by Yostar Games, connects players across iOS, Android, web browsers, Windows and Steam in real-time mahjong matches. The game features ranked and friendly modes, character-driven avatars with bond progression, and a range of anime-style emotes.
