Marvel Rivals combines some of the greatest gaming experiences with legendary heroes/villains, and the game's Nintendo Switch availability has been a common question since players would love to continue their progression on the go.

Nintendo Switch and its variations are powerful consoles, especially considering their small size. Despite being a life-long PC gamer, I even bought myself a Nintendo Switch, just so I could experience its ecosystem while still continuing to play some of my favorite games during travels. When it comes to Marvel Rivals, though, I had to make compromises.

Is Marvel Rivals on the Nintendo Switch?

No, Marvel Rivals isn't available on Nintendo Switch. At the time of writing, the hero shooter is only available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and GeForce Now. There have also been instances where Marvel Rivals' director said the game was unlikely to come to Nintendo Switch.

Marvel Rivals is also not available on PS4 and Xbox One, so it looks like it skips all the past-gen consoles. This is rather promising for the future since Nintendo Switch 2 is due for a refresh.

Will Marvel Rivals release on Nintendo Switch 2?

There's a decent chance that Marvel Rivals will release on the Nintendo Switch 2. The game's producer, Weicong Wu revealed that the development team has been in talks with Nintendo and is already working with some development kits, in an interview with IGN.

The original Switch lacked the power to deliver a smooth Marvel Rivals experience, according to Wu. With the Nintendo Switch 2 featuring more powerful hardware, it can easily meet the performance expectations of Marvel Rivals.

Though there isn't a confirmed release date for Marvel Rivals for the Switch 2, yet, we'd expect the game to speed up its development efforts upon the console's release. Games of Marvel Rivals' caliber often benefit from releasing in an ecosystem with large followings since they can turn into regulars that most players come back to play every game. Ipersonally look forward to continuing my Marvel Rivals SVP streak on a new device for a change, and it would also be great to keep up with the game when I'm away from my PC.
