Solo Leveling: ARISE, New Fire-Element Hunter Gina Performance Review

Gina is a fire-element mage Hunter known for her ability to excel as both a DPS and support character. With her buffs mainly coming from passive abilities, her skillset is straightforward but slightly hindered by the presence of channeled abilities, which can affect fluid gameplay.

Prioritize the Attack stat to enhance both damage and healing.

  • Gina can both heal and deal damage, but since critical hits don't affect healing, Attack is the top priority stat.
  • For stats other than Attack, focus on Critical Hit, Defense Penetration, and Damage Increase
  • The second recommended stat in the game is MP, but Gina’s skills and breakthroughs do not effectively scale with MP, making investments in this stat less efficient.

Gina is not a fully off-field sub-DPS due to her relatively long on-field presence.

  • Due to Gina's skill mechanics, which rely on using her Q and E abilities alongside core attacks to accumulate Countercurrent, she requires more on-field time compared to other characters.

Be cautious when using Gina’s E skill, as it is a channeled skill, locking her in place.

  • Gina's Path of Extinction (E) is her main ability, allowing her to both build up Countercurrent and unleash powerful damage.
  • This makes timing and positioning critical, as once the ability is triggered, you can't adjust the direction, and maximizing its power requires maintaining the channel.

Gina’s ultimate ability comes with a Power Gauge Recovery feature

  • When Gina uses her ultimate ability, a Gravitational Field is generated, activating Body Retrograde. This effect continuously heals teammates' HP while also restoring their Power Gauge.
  • At the third advancement, Gina’s Q skill also gains the ability to generate a Gravitational Field, further enhancing her team's support capabilities.

Due to Gina's unique positioning as both a DPS and support, selecting the right Artifacts is essential to align with the desired playstyle.

  • Because Gina balances both DPS and support roles, her Artifact choices are unique compared to other characters.
  • If you want to focus on maximizing Gina's damage output, the Burning Curses or Black Lion artifact sets are recommended. For those who prefer to enhance her support capabilities, the Burning Blessing set is a better option.

First advancement is for efficiency. Third advancement is for high performance

  • At the first advancement, Gina provides a shield to team members while increasing their damage output and reducing the damage they take, significantly boosting the team’s overall stability.
  • At her third advancement, in addition to the healing abilities provided by the Gravitational Field, Gina also applies the Gravity Boost debuff, which increases the fire-attribute damage that enemies receive.
  • At her fifth advancement, Gina’s abilities become more focused on increasing her own firepower. This advancement enhances her personal damage output rather than her supportive abilities. Therefore, if you want to prioritize Gina’s role as a team support, delaying her fifth advancement is a viable option.
