Overwatch's Competitive Season 3 ends with a curious news release

Overwatch’s Competitive Season 3 officially ended today at 4:00 p.m. PST. In this past season we saw some major tweaks and new additions to the game, such as the new map Oasis and the major rework on Symmetra, which made her appear more frequently in the ladder and also in tournaments.

All players that participated in this season's Competitive Play have received player icons, sprays, and Competitive Points in line with their SR. The next Competitive season will begin a week from today on February 28, 4:00 p.m. PST, after a weeklong break as Competitive Play goes offline.

While there is no confirmation on whether the patches in PTR will be introduced along with the next season, the history of how Overwatch has been introducing the patches does tell us that there is a high chance that Blizzard might be dropping the PTR tweaks onto the live server either before or along with the beginning of the next Competitive season. Blizzard has been making major tweaks to Roadhog and Bastion in PTR, so we may see certain meta changes when Season 4 hits live.

Along with the announcement of Season 3 Competitive coming to an end, there was another news release from the official Overwatch website that fired a round of conversation regarding who we will be seeing in the next hero announcement. In its published interview, Atlas News introduced the 11-year old robotics and AI expert Efi Oladele, whom many fans are already debating to be related to a new hero announcement.

According to her interview with Spotlight on Numbani, she said that she wants to "build something that can keep us safe." This sparked a round of questions on whether the "something" would be the third generation of Doomfist, due to some hints that suggest he might be an Omnic.
