In the wake of COVID-19 - AKA the coronavirus - esports has seen numerous cancelations and postponements of events and tournaments around the globe. Riot Games announced this morning that they'd be rescheduling their huge Mid Season Invitational tournament to July, instead of hosting in May as usual. Now, due to a recent ban of public gatherings in France, Zénith Paris—La Villette has canceled all scheduled events through April 15th, including the Paris Eternal Homestand.

Paris Eternal was set to host their Homestand event on April 11th and 12th, but must now either reschedule or cancel their event. A Dot Esports translation of Zénith Paris' announcement claims, "producers of shows are forced either to postpone or cancel all the events planned at the Zénith de Paris – La Villette until April 15, 2020.”

There has not been any official announcement or response from Paris Eternal, who may be planning to postpone the event until the following week, where there are several two day time slots open available in Zénith Paris' schedule. However, while there may be enough time to host the event itself, there may not be enough days to get the required Homestand stage set up and torn down before other acts. 

This is not the first disrupted Overwatch League Homestand, with multiple being canceled throughout China and Korea earlier this year, and displacing those teams to Los Angeles to finish the season. The coronavirus has put a large damper on OWL's efforts in changing their format.
