Streetwear designer Jeff Staple teamed up with the Overwatch League to create the first of its kind Esports Player Kit. The 20 teams participating in the League will have their own unique designs, which will launch on February 8th, 2020. The League is celebrating the announcement by having every team turn into a pigeon logo, signature of Jeff Staple.
The clothing designs were created in conjunction with the Overwatch League players, who provided feedback on the fabric quality, graphic details and side gussets to ensure the look and feel is brand new to both esports and traditional sports, as well as fitting to be easy to wear while gaming. Staple created functional uniforms that still capture his signature look.
“It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring the best of the esports and streetwear worlds together to create something totally unique & ground-breaking. The kits are not only specifically engineered to perform to players’ specifications, but they’re also designed to look great outside the arena.” - Jeff Staple
All 20 teams in the league will have their unique kits, including a short and long sleeve jersey, compression sleeves, a jacket, beanie and hat. “I have been observing esports for years and am a huge fan of what Overwatch League has been able to accomplish, so when they asked me to design their new kits, I was stoked,” Staple told BusinessWire.
All designs will be available on January 28th, and you can pre-order the new Overwatch League jerseys on shop.overwatchleague.com
