T1 has announced its roster for the upcoming of Overwatch Contenders in South Korea. At the helm of the roster will be Head Coach Jeong “ArHan” Won-hyeop, who played for Houston Outlaws in the DPS position during both seasons of Overwatch League.
ArHan will be coaching young South Korea talents Kim "Physics" Jin, Yu "QoQ" Sung-jun, and Ji-Heon "ION" Lim. Yemeni talent Zuhair "Zeerocious" Delsol and a completely new NA talent in "SixFeet" will also join the roster. Lastly, former Fusion University DPS Lee "Na1st" Ho-sung will round out the roster for 2020.
CEO of T1 Esports Joe Marsh mentioned in a celebratory tweet that the organization’s staff aim to have players make the jump to Overwatch League when the time was right for each respective player.
T1 announced its participation in Overwatch Contenders on Dec 2, 2019, and started fielding aplications of players and coaches shortly thereafter.
In about six weeks, the team has completed a starting six and solidified its Head Coach position with an Overwatch League veteran in ArHan. In addition to playing for Outlaws in OWL, ArHan also played on the championship roster from South Korea in the inaugural Overwatch World Cup in 2016. His experience and familiarity in working with both Western and Eastern players should prove invaluable to the young T1 squad.
