Since Mirage became available in the available pool of heroes, I’ve been testing out different builds to see which ones yield the best results. With most builds focusing on improving Djinn’s Mark, I found myself struggling to keep up in most matches, as the ability starts shining in the late game. Regardless of where you lane with Mirage, he needs a combination of survivability and also damage buffs at the start of the game. The Headshot Booster, Enduring Spirit, and Ammo Scavenger trio provide the perfect mix of offense and defense for Mirage. The rest of the list is filled with decent alternatives that can help you excel in different scenarios.

If you’re in a laning situation where you need to dodge one too many projectiles, investing an early Sprint Boots could allow you to make more plays.

If you’re feeling slightly greedy and there isn't much fighting going on in the map, you can also pick up Alchemical Fire to speed up your farming rate. Though Ricochet is also a valuable contender in this case, I’ve found it to be more greedy than Alchemical Fire in most cases. I’ve also picked up Combat Barrier and Bullet Lifesteal in matches where I struggled to stay alive in fights, but I prefer skipping them for damage if possible.

When the clock hits late game, it’ll be time to keep up the pressure with bullet damage. Point Blank, Burst Fire, and Crippling Shot all help to take your damage to the next level. Superior Duration and Cooldown also let your abilities excel even further.

When it comes to which items you should go for first, it’ll heavily depend on your team’s situation in the game. If your teammates have no trouble dishing out formidable amounts of damage, you can start with ability-focused items like Superior Duration or Superior Cooldown. However, if there’s a desperate need for more damage, the likes of Point Blank, Burst Fire, and Crippling Headshot can balance the scales.

There are also a few sustainability and utility items you can pick up at this point, such as Leech, Improved Armor types, and Slowing Hex. Though they tend to be useful, you should prioritize such items only if you can't stay alive in teamfights long enough to use all of your abilities and deal damage.

Ability and Skilling Order for Mirage

A single point in Djinn’s Mark increases Mirage’s laning damage potential. Tornado and Fire Scarabs also allow Mirage to join fights and make a difference. Once you unlock Traveler, you can hop around essential parts of the map, pick off enemies, or pull off split-pushing shenanigans.
