Earlier this month, Golden Guardians announced the signing of former Turkish jungler, Can "Closer" Çelik. We had the opportunity to have a quick chat with the player about League of Legends All-Star 2019 and his expectations for playing in the LCS.
You just came to the states recently, what’s your first impression of the US?
Las Vegas is amazing; the food is so good! I always wanted to be on bigger stages at bigger events, so I feel good.
What are your expectations now that you’re here for debuting in the LCS?
Of course, we have a long way ahead of us. I think we need to work hard, and as a team, we have a lot of potential.
Have you met Goldenglue yet?
Yes, we just met for the first time yesterday on Rick Fox’s charity stream, actually. He seems like a really good teammate, so I’m looking forward to playing with him.
What do you think you’ll be missing most from home?
Friends and family.
When you got an LCS offer, did you have any second thoughts or did you accept right away?
It was hard. This is a different country with a difference in time as well, so I can’t talk to my family as much and things like that. But I always wanted to play internationally, so it wasn’t a tough decision.
What do you think of ASE 2019 so far?
It’s a great event to meet up with other pros and streamers. It’s been really good.
Welcome to the USA, Closer. I hope you love it. Will we see you qualify for Worlds next year?
I hope so! *laughs*
