On the 10th (KST), in the 2019 LCK Spring Split Day 33 match, Griffin defeated SANDBOX Gaming and extended their winning streak to 12. Although there were moments that were neck and neck, Griffin brought the flow to their side by super plays and teamwork. They won 2-0.
The following is an interview with Tarzan.
How do you feel winning against SANDBOX Gaming?
Game 1 was harder than we expected. I think we won because we did well. The com was a bit difficult for us but we endured well and leaped forward only when we had the upper hand. I’m very happy.
The Baron steal in Game 1 was the main moment in today’s game.
Although we weren’t able to kill Jayce at bot, since the two were able to teleport to Baron, there was not much trouble. Even if we weren’t able to steal, I thought we would be able to endure at least another turn, so I went in with Flash.
There was a blast cone and you could have used your ult. Why did you use Flash?
If I went in using the blast cone, I wouldn’t have been able to use my Q with Smite. I wanted to use Q+Smite so I used Flash.
The red buff fight went your way as well. It seems that you’re a jungler that uses Smite really well.
It was partially luck. If we weren’t able to secure that red, it would have been really hard. It was a very risky play but after I secured red, I thought the game would go easy.
Do you think you’ll be able to win all six remaining matches?
I do a bit, but since we have enough wins already, I don’t think it would matter much even if we do lose.
Some people say that Tarzan poisoned the jungle. Your unique picks or item builds lead the meta.
I think the only thing I made
As for today’s game, you played Taliyah who was nerfed and considered not very viable in the jungle.
It was a prepared pick. Since we like playing confidently, I brought it out with confidence.
Any last comments?
We have 6 games left. We’ll do our best until we are confirmed to head to the finals and get good results.
