Bae "Bang" Jun-sik, who was SKT's starting ADC for the past 5 years, is now a free agent. After SKT released their official statement, this veteran player immediately went live on Twitch.tv. For approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, he shared some of his personal thoughts that he wasn't able to reveal in the past and also spared time to answer some of the fans' questions.
The following is a short summary of what Bang said in his live stream.
Bang: I've seen a lot of players leave and it was really tough... I think it's time for my departure so I'm here to say "goodbye". The players I've been with were good friends and brothers. I'm sure that the fans that have been supporting us will understand this feeling.
It was a tough decision for me as well. Now that it's actually announced... Well, the reality is tougher than I've expected. I would like to thank my teammates, organization and our staff members for everything they've gone through. I'm thankful for my friends and fans as well. I was able to withstand everything because of you guys; it was so good to have you by my side. Since we've shared the same feelings for the past 5 years, I'm pretty sure you guys know what I'm trying to say.
I'm not retiring. Well, the LCK fans must have felt happy, excited or sometimes sad and frustrated to see me perform. I'd like to say each and every experience and memory were so precious. It was like a process that shaped me into what I am today. I hope I'll be able to be an awesome player in the future as well.
My decision was made quite a long time ago. To think of all my fans... It was a very tough one. I wasn't forced to end my contract; it was a mutual termination. SKT is an excellent team that still has remarkable players to perform. I hope you guys support the team and I both. The SKT coaching staff and the players put in a lot of effort. Everyone was so nice to me. I'm so thankful. I don't have any regrets as well.
I'd like to say something that I was so eager to say... During my pro career, it was okay to hear people blaming me, but it hurt so much hearing them blaming our organization or staff members... They were always putting in their utmost to help the players. I'd like to politely ask for a bit more tolerance. Whenever they were blamed, they just accepted the criticism without any excuse. I felt so bad to see that.
I'm thinking of joining any region. I just want to find a team that suits me well. I'm eager for a new challenge; I'm excited to meet and work with good people there.
My happiest moment in SKT... Well, you guys must have been thinking of the time when we were winning a lot of trophies in 2015 and 2016. However, personally, I was happier after having fun with my teammates after winning a tournament. You know, those small memories like grabbing something to eat together, or sleeping well.
