Before the third day of Rift Rivals Red, we had a chance to speak with Xiaoxiong 'Yuniko', a Taiwanese streamer who is also doing interviewers for Garena in the Rift Rivals Red. She surprised us by greeting us in Korean as we started the interview.
Where did you learn how to greet in Korean?
"My brother-in-law is Korean. So I had a chance to vist Korea when my sister got married. Her wedding ceremony was done in traditional Korean style - it was really interesting. Hanbok was very pretty too."
How did you start out as an interviewer for LMS?
I started out as a streamer, but I started to work as an interviewer two years ago when League of Legends started to get more popular and they needed an interviewer. My ranked tier is Platinum, but people were more surprised that I mained Lee Sin.
Usually, female players in Taiwan tend to play support or mid, but I think I caught attention because I liked to play jungler and my main is Lee Sin. I can sometimes even do the Insec kick on my good days. (Laughs)
Who is your favorite League of Legend player?
Faker, of course. I was really nervous when I interviewed Faker. I never stuttered while I was doing an interview, but I couldn't even talk properly while I was standing next to him. My fans teased me so much about it.
I actually had a good reason for being nervous. Players usually look at the interpreter or the camera when doing an interview. I was so embarrassed because Faker had his eyes on me while for the entire interview.
Is there a player in the Rift Rivals that you want to do an interview with?
I really wanted to interview Peanut, but I couldn't. Fans also asked a lot for an interview with him, but I never had the chance.
