Kickboxer Video Game in Development by New Studio Founded by AAA Veterans

Force Multiplier Studios has announced the development of the first-ever Kickboxer video game in collaboration with Dimitri Logothetis and Rob Hickman, the filmmakers renowned for titles such as Kickboxer: Vengeance, Kickboxer: Retaliation, and the forthcoming Kickboxer: Armageddon.

Currently in the early stages of development, the game aims to blend the rich storytelling of the Kickboxer franchise with dynamic martial arts action. Players can expect an intense, high-energy brawler featuring beloved characters and iconic locations from the series, which originally starred martial arts legend Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Since its debut in 1989, Kickboxer has become a staple in pop culture, celebrated for its exhilarating fight scenes and themes of resilience and redemption. The collaboration seeks to translate this legacy into an immersive gaming experience, allowing fans to engage deeply with the martial arts universe.

Force Multiplier Studios is a newly established development company founded by industry veterans Jeremy Breslau, Brent Friedman, and Charnjit Bansi. These founders bring extensive experience from leading narrative and design teams on major AAA franchises such as Call of Duty, Borderlands, and Halo. Their background also includes significant contributions to film adaptations for franchises like Tomb Raider and Mortal Kombat.

Dimitri Logothetis, writer and director of Kickboxer: Armageddon, emphasized the cultural impact of Kickboxer and expressed enthusiasm for partnering with Force Multiplier Studios. The collaboration aims to honor the original film while introducing innovative gameplay elements to the series.

Producer Rob Hickman highlighted the studio's expertise in redefining the martial arts brawler genre, ensuring that the game will both respect the franchise’s history and set new standards for player expectations.

Jeremy Breslau, CEO of Force Multiplier Studios, showed excitement about integrating Kickboxer into the gaming landscape. He mentioned the studio’s commitment to innovation, drawing parallels to their work on Karnivus: Rooftop Rumble, a combat shooter experience developed using Fortnite Creative. Breslau outlined plans for a dynamic brawler that emphasizes visceral combat and environmental interactions, promising an unprecedented martial arts experience for players.
