Final Unveils D8000 DC and DC Pro Flagship Headphones

Final, a leading name in high-fidelity audio, is marking its 50th anniversary with the release of its new flagship headphones: the D8000 DC and D8000 DC Pro. Known for its innovative contributions to the audio industry, Final has continuously pushed the boundaries of sound technology, and these new models carry on that legacy with advanced driver technology and refined acoustics designed for audiophiles and professionals alike.

The D8000 series first made waves seven years ago with its planar magnetic headphones, offering a groundbreaking driver technology that set a new standard for high-end audio. Since then, Final has further refined its approach, introducing several new innovations that culminate in the D8000 DC and D8000 DC Pro models.

At the heart of these new headphones is Final’s proprietary Air Film Damping System (AFDS), a technology initially developed to enhance low-frequency response by regulating diaphragm movement through air’s natural properties. This revision of AFDS delivers even greater sound accuracy, expanding the headphones' dynamic range and reducing distortion.

In the D8000 DC and DC Pro, Final has reengineered every element of the metal mesh structure surrounding the diaphragm. The hole diameters, pitch, and patterns have all been redesigned to create a more organic, open bass response. In addition, the use of breathable 'washi paper' ear pads contributes to improved spatial clarity, ensuring a richer listening experience.

The D8000 DC and DC Pro are built with an ultra-lightweight diaphragm crafted from etched aluminium foil, reducing the weight of the vibration system by approximately one-third. This makes for faster response times and superior high-frequency detail, giving the headphones an airy, refined sound signature.

Manufactured in Final's Kawasaki workshops, the headphones reflect the company's commitment to precision. Each component is crafted using equipment developed in-house to ensure the highest standards of quality control during production.

The D8000 DC is designed with the general audiophile in mind, offering a balanced sound signature that caters to both casual listeners and professional users. The D8000 DC Pro, meanwhile, is specifically tuned to enhance the listening experience at higher volumes, with increased bass prominence that adjusts to human hearing characteristics.

Both models come with two cables—a 4.4mm balanced cable and a 4-pin XLR cable—while the DC Pro includes an upgraded silver-coated cable for enhanced performance.
