Netmarble Unveils 'The King of Fighters AFK' at Tokyo Game Show 2024

Netmarble, a leading mobile game developer and publisher, has revealed its latest title, The King of Fighters AFK, at the Tokyo Game Show 2024. The new game, based on the popular The King of Fighters intellectual property, was unveiled with a teaser trailer at the SNK booth during the event, which runs from September 26 to 29.

 

The King of Fighters AFK is a character collectible RPG, featuring pixel art graphics that pay homage to the classic The King of Fighters R-2 on the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Developed by Netmarble Neo, the game is designed to bring iconic characters from the series to life in a strategic and immersive gameplay experience.

 

 

To coincide with the announcement, Netmarble launched an official teaser website and YouTube channel on September 26, offering fans a first look at the game. Both platforms will provide updates on the game's development.

 

The King of Fighters series, originally launched in the 1990s, has become a staple in the fighting game genre, known for its complex combat systems and memorable characters. With 15 mainline titles released to date, the franchise has maintained a global fanbase.

 

Netmarble, founded in South Korea in 2000, is known for developing and publishing top mobile titles, including MARVEL Future Fight, Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, and The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross.
