◈ Team WE vs G2 Esports - Hold on, let me grab that cannon minion first...
Let's fast-forward to the mid game. G2 Esports parried WE's attack on the outer turret and scored a kill against WE. G2 could have either pursued WE or stopped to recoup. However, G2 was indecisive, and they were torn between the two. Shen and Tahm Kench pursued the enemy, while Elise, Ryze (Both at critical health) and Varus, who was busy taking a cannon minion, were left behind. The rest is history.
I'm sorry to say this, but I can't help myself from being disappointed whenever I watch G2 play. Did I expect too much because of their fame of being the undisputed champion in Europe? G2 might have ended the day with 3-5 along with three other teams, but I doubt that they'll make it to semifinals at this rate.
◈ Flash Wolves vs SK Telecom T1 - The Wolves that made the Gods bleed
Remember what Bjergsen said about how to beat SKT? Flash Wolves took it by heart and made it happen. MMD and Maple seized the initiative for FW in the early game, and Karsa made sure that the snowball kept rolling for Flash Wolves to take the win.
Once again, FW proved that they are the bane of LCK teams. The achievement is even more impressive as SKT T1 had never been defeated until that match. By defeating SKT T1, FW put themselves back in contention for semifinals, and SKT T1 have learned that they are certainly not unbeatable.
◈ G2 Esports vs Gigabyte Marines - Galio's new best friends
GAM prepared an unexpected composition in the match against G2, which included Galio, Zed and Ziggs. Galio is an AP-based champion, which allows AD-based Zed to be in the mid lane. Zed will dive in towards enemy ADC, and Galio will ult on top of Zed to clean up. If that didn't get the job done, Ziggs' ultimate will surely get it done.
GAM's composition in this match was unlike anything that was seen before. Galio failed to make an impression until this match, but this composition will allow Galio and his ultimate to shine more. Depending on the matchup, Talon could be a good replacement of Zed. Also, with Amumu as jungler, the composition gets even more...never mind.
◈ Team Solo Mid vs SK Telecom T1 - Here'ssss Huni!
Galio shouldn't have been a good match against Kennen as a top laner; Galio should have been helpless against Kennen's ranged harass; while Kennen should have had superior mobility compared to Galio. Despite all odds, Huni's Galio managed to score two solo kills against Hauntzer's Kennen.
It wasn't only Huni that showed an impressive performance. Faker's super play allowed SKT to win a teamfight while outnumbered three to four; not to mention how the teamfight near TSM's inhibitor unexpectedly went in SKT's favor. It was something that only SKT will and can do.
