As the Play-ins have come to an end, the draw for the 1st round of the Swiss Stage at the 2023 LoL World Championship was held. During the draw, legendary support, Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong joined the host, Bae Hye-ji, to conduct the draw.
In the 1st round of the Swiss Stage, teams from Pool 1 face those from Pool 4, and teams from Pool 2 face those from Pool 3. Pool 1 includes the 1st seeds from major regions: Gen.G, JD Gaming, G2 Esports, and NRG. Group 2 consists of the 2nd seeds from major regions: T1, Bilibili Gaming, Fnatic, and Cloud9. Group 3 houses the 3rd seeds from major regions: KT Rolster, LNG Esports, MAD Lions, and Team Liquid. The final Group 4 is composed of the 4th seeds from LCK and LPL: Dplus KIA, Weibo Gaming, and the Play-in qualifiers: Team BDS, and GAM Esports.

Both the 1st and 2nd rounds of the Swiss Stage will be single-game matches. In the 2nd round, winning teams will face each other, and losing teams will compete against each other. The draw for the first round did not allow teams from the same region to face off, but starting from the second round, teams from the same team can meet.
The Swiss Stage for Worlds 2023 will begin on Oct. 19, at KBS Arena in Seoul, Korea.
