On Jan. 9, DWG KIA announced that they are rebranding to Dplus KIA. The organization has been running multiple esports teams throughout various games, including League of Legends, PUBG, PUBG mobile, Rainbow Six Siege, and Valorant.
Especially, their League of Legends team had three consecutive LCK championships and a World Championship.
Through the rebranding, DWG KIA will play under the name, Dplus KIA starting from the 2023 season. The new jersey and logo will be showcased Jan. 10, at the 2023 LCK season kickoff event with Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu.
The letter "D" serves as an homage to the Damwon name, which has been present with the organization since its LCK debut. The "plus" represents limitless connectivity and expansive potential for a bright future.
Vice chairman and COO of Dplus KIA, Lee Joon-young said, “We’re excited to create a new chapter in this organization’s storied history with this phenomenal team and the bold projects we have in store for this year that will bring a new wave of fans to the Dplus KIA family.”
