On Nov. 28, T1 announced that the living legend, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, has re-signed on a three-year contract. Faker had his debut in SK Telecom T1 back in 2013 and has never left the team since then. With this contract, Faker will most likely finish his career in T1. There had been rumors about big offers from other regions, but Faker’s choice was to stay in the LCK and T1.
Besides the announcement for Faker, T1 also announced the signing of the coaching staff. The three coaches they announced are Kim “Roach” Kang-hee, Kim “Sky” Ha-neul, and Lim “Tom” Jae-hyeon. The three coaches will work aside head coach Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong for 2023.
With Faker re-signing with T1, the team will move forward with the same roster as 2022, in Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon, Faker, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok, as the contracts of the other players expire at the end of 2023. This roster wrote history by winning the spring split undefeated. They were runners-up for the spring season and also runners-up for the World Championship.
