Taiwanese League of Legends team ahq e-Sports Club parted ways with five of its members earlier today. Head Coach Tsai "GreenTea" Shang-Ching, substitute mid laner Hsieh "Apex" Chia-Wei and three members of ahq's starting roster — jungler Hsiao "Kongyue" Jen-Tso, AD carry Tsou "Wako" Wei-Yang, and support Wang "Ysera" Tsung-Chih — have parted ways with the elite Pacific Championship Series squad.
In the 2020 PCS Summer Split, ahq was dominant, holding a top spot for the near entirety of the split before settling for 2nd place with a record of 14-4. In the 2020 PCS Summer Playoffs, ahq faltered and finished in 4th place, which ended the organization's attempt to qualify for Worlds 2020.
While ahq didn't make it to the World Championship, Kongyue and starting mid laner Chen "Uniboy" Chang-Chu ended up filling in for PCS 2nd seed PSG Talon for the entirety of the play-in due to visa issues.
As a mid/jungle duo, Kongyue and Uniboy are superior to PSG Talon starters Kim "River" Dong-woo and Park "Tank" Dan-won, and shined throughout the play-in before returning to ahq e-Sports club. Uniboy will be staying with ahq for the forseeable future, but Kongyue could be headed to China's League of Legends Pro League after an impressive Worlds debut like many a talented Taiwanese jungler before him.
It is currently unknown where any of ahq e-Sports Club's former members are going. None of the players have international experience outside of Kongyue, and GreenTea's near half-decade history with the organization as a player, analyst, and now coach shows that ahq e-Sports Club is willing to rebuild and reconfigure for a new era in its organization's legacy after the parting of ways.
