After announcing the departure of Top Laner Ki "Expect" Dae-han from its League of Legends European Championship roster, Excel Esports revealed that their Mid Laner Michey would also be leaving the team. Two weeks ago, Joey "YoungBuck" Steltenpool announced that the team would be restructured, seeking performance upgrades for the Summer Split of the 2020 season.
His journey in the European league started in Summer of 2019, when he joined Excel Esportsas their starting Mid Laner to add on to the stacked up roster, to hopefully reach the playoffs. Unfortunately, the player was unable to join the team in time due to visa complications, which meant Excel’s Academy Mid Laner Joran “Special” Scheffer made appearances on stage until Mickey arrived in European soil.
The Mid Laner, previously known as MickeyGod, has played in three major leagues, including the LEC, LCK and the LCS. He has participated in rosters of teams like Team Liquid, Afreeca Freecs, Golden Guardians and APK Prince, and most recently, Excel Esports. His results in international leagues have been lower than expected, making fans doubt his acquisition in the first place.
