Chovy’s Deathless Streak Powers Gen.G to 8–0 LCK Start

Gen.G extended its perfect start in the 2025 LCK regular season to eight straight wins after sweeping Dplus KIA and DRX in Week 4 action at the LCK Arena. The defending champions carried momentum from a 6–0 opening into the league’s fourth week, relying on standout mid-lane play to secure two more victories. Jeong Ji-hoon, better known as Chovy, delivered an exceptional run by completing seven consecutive games without a death—a feat rarely seen in the league’s history for a mid laner. He opened the week with a 4-0-11 line on Taliyah against Dplus KIA before posting 13-0-6 on Sylas later in the series. Against DRX, Chovy followed with 6-0-8 on Ahri and 5-0-11 on Galio, cementing his streak.

Gen.G’s dominance extended beyond individual performance. In their matchup with DRX, the team outscored its opponent 23-3 in kills during Game 1 and then delivered a flawless 19-0 sweep in Game 2. That commanding display highlighted Gen.G’s depth and coordination, as players across positions capitalized on Chovy’s pressure to swiftly control objectives and close out games.

Meanwhile, Dplus KIA’s mid laner Heo Su, known as Showmaker, reached the 2,000-kill milestone—the ninth player in LCK history to do so—but consecutive defeats overshadowed the landmark. Dplus KIA fell to T1 after surrendering a mid-game lead, then dropped a three-game encounter with Hanwha Life Esports despite winning the opening match. The losses halted the team’s ascent and left it in third place at 5–3, holding a +5 game differential, one spot above Nongshim RedForce.

With four weeks complete, Gen.G stands alone at the top of the standings, while Dplus KIA aims to rebound in Week 5 and reclaim its early-season form.
