League of Legends developers on Tuesday unveiled a series of upcoming changes during their latest Dev Update video. Team leads Andrei “Meddler” van Roon and Paul “Pabro” Bellezza detailed several adjustments designed to address recent player concerns.
Among the planned modifications is the return of Hextech Chests. In the next patch, scheduled to debut during Act 2 next week, players will be able to earn up to 10 chests and keys per Act. Eight of these chests will be available through the free Pass while two will be linked to the Honor system. The chests will replicate the ones previously available through Champ Mastery.
A 50% reduction in Blue Essence costs for all champions is also set for the upcoming patch, a change intended to help newer players build out their champion rosters and improve overall accessibility. Additional adjustments include a delay in the release of the Sahn Uzal Mordekaiser skin, allowing the team additional time to refine its design to better capture its intended fantasy. The developers will also extend the production timeline for future Exalted skins, meaning that players might see fewer releases than originally anticipated.
In response to feedback about the paid Seasonal Pass, one of the non-Prestige skins will be replaced with 25 Mythic Essence. For Act 2, the paid Pass will feature skins for champions Darius, Sion and Talon, a move aimed at addressing concerns over Mythic Essence availability and the frequency of skin releases.

Competitive play will also see a schedule change as Clash returns on a monthly basis, with a special ARURF event slated for March and the regular Summoner’s Rift format scheduled for April. This adjustment follows earlier feedback regarding a reduction in Clash events.
The update also confirms the return of in-game shops, with the Shop set to come back in Patch 25.6 and the Blue Essence Emporium scheduled for Patch 25.7. Developers emphasized that the adjustments reflect an ongoing effort to refine and improve the game based on community feedback. Full details on the changes are available in the accompanying blog post released today.
