Riot Games has announced that its recent Player Days in-game fundraiser amassed over $3 million for the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. The campaign, held from October 9 to October 28, celebrated the 15th anniversary of League of Legends by offering players special in-game items, with 100% of the proceeds going to charity.
For the first time, Riot introduced a 3x match opportunity, tripling the impact of every purchase. Players could acquire three exclusive skins—Cosplayer Neeko, Music Fan Gragas, and Esports Fan Trundle—as well as the Gamer Fan Poro Ward. The funds raised will be distributed to nonprofits worldwide focusing on mental health, education and job training, and poverty alleviation—cause areas identified as important by the League community.
"Every time we hold an in-game fundraiser, players show up and exceed our expectations for how much they will raise," said Jeffrey Burrell, Head of Social Impact & Sustainability at Riot Games. "Our Player Days Campaign was no different. This campaign was the perfect way for us to celebrate 15 years of League because without League players, the Riot Games Social Impact Fund would not exist. It’s because of their dedication to giving back that we’ve been able to raise over $50 million and support over 450 nonprofits across 28 regions."
Paul Bellezza, Executive Producer of League of Legends, added, "We are nothing without our players and community. They help us shape the game with their feedback, celebration, and love for this game. And I just want to thank every person who's been on this journey with us and those who play every day. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and we hope that we can continue to make League a game that brings joy, competition, and fun to people for generations to come."
The Riot Games Social Impact Fund, established in 2019 in partnership with ImpactAssets, serves as the company's nonprofit engine for global social impact. To date, players have helped raise over $50 million, supporting more than 450 nonprofits across 28 regions.
