Riot Games announced today that "Teamfight Tactics: Into the Arcane," an Arcane-themed set for its widely acclaimed strategy game, will launch on PC and mobile platforms on November 20. The reveal took place during the 2024 League of Legends World Championship Final at the O2 Arena in London, captivating a sold-out crowd and a global broadcast audience.
The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer showcasing a heartfelt family reunion and Little Legends discussing their favorite "Arcane" moments and fan theories. The new set invites players to immerse themselves in the world of "Arcane," featuring themed champions, cosmetics, traits, and mechanics that allow fans to craft their own stories within the game's universe.
"Teamfight Tactics players may remember our sixth set, 'Gizmos & Gadgets,' which included some 'Arcane' content," said Winston Baker, lead producer for the new set. "With 'Into the Arcane,' we wanted the show to be an integral part of the set from its inception, infused into every aspect of the game. We hope players feel this is the most 'Arcane' set ever."
The set introduces several exclusive units making their game debut in "Teamfight Tactics," including Violet, Powder, and Vander. Ambessa Medarda, the formidable matriarch of the Medarda family, will also join the champion roster. Additional units will be revealed through Teamfight Tactics' social media channels in the coming weeks.
"Arcane has always been about transformation and evolution," said Shawn Elizabeth Main, lead set designer. "We can't wait for players to see how we've embraced these core themes and integrated them into the gameplay of 'Into the Arcane.'"
To welcome new and returning players, "Teamfight Tactics" will reintroduce Tocker's Trials, an experimental player-versus-environment game mode, in the first patch of the new set. This mode offers a low-pressure environment for players to learn the ropes and enjoy the game.
"Teamfight Tactics has always been about fan fiction, but 'Into the Arcane' takes immersion to a level that fandoms dream about," said Peter Whalen, game director for "Teamfight Tactics." "We look forward to welcoming players of all levels to experience this new set."
The global reveal of "Teamfight Tactics: Into the Arcane" is scheduled during the Grand Final of the Magic n’ Mayhem Tactician’s Crown on November 10.
