XD Games unveiled details for the upcoming sixth season of its popular action role-playing game, Torchlight: Infinite, during a live preview event on Thursday. The latest season promises to expand the game’s vibrant universe with new gameplay mechanics, characters, and a unique frozen-themed setting that aims to captivate its dedicated player base.

The developer introduced Selena, a new hero joining the roster of Hunters. Selena is a formidable musician whose abilities center around her melodic prowess, set to illuminate the game’s new area, the Frozen Canvas, this October. Her skill set includes the ability to switch between two distinct forms, each offering strategic advantages on the battlefield.

In her first form, Bard Mode, Selena’s abilities are enveloped in foam clouds that are deceptively dangerous. These foam clouds burst into bright colors upon contact with enemies, triggering her skills to hinder foes and facilitate rapid movement across the battlefield. This mode allows Selena to summon tidal waves and inflict damage from a distance, providing both offensive and defensive capabilities.

Alternatively, Selena can enter Loud Song Mode, where her powers reach their peak intensity. Although this mode restricts her movement, it significantly boosts her damage output, enabling her to overpower enemies swiftly. This transformation allows Selena to transition seamlessly from a support role to a powerful damage dealer with the press of a button.

The new season also introduces the Frozen Netherrealm, a wintery landscape filled with Snowpaper Fragments. These mystical fragments enable players to access subsequent stages, engage in battles, and collect various colors to create personalized canvases. Each unlocked painting initiates Color Mixing Objectives, tasks that help Hunters discover new colors and effects as they develop their artistic masterpieces. Completing these objectives allows players to manipulate the Frozen Canvas, transforming the environment to reflect their creative vision.

Additionally, gathering Colored Snow in the Netherrealm enhances players’ painting skills, unlocks new brushstrokes, and reveals hidden monsters and valuable treasures scattered across the snowy plains and caverns.

XD Games expressed excitement about the new season, highlighting the innovative gameplay loop and the introduction of Selena as key features that will enrich the Torchlight: Infinite experience. Fans can look forward to exploring the frozen paradise and uncovering the myriad of opportunities it presents.
