VALORANT Agent 26, Vyse, was recently revealed, and her release date is approaching. New agents often come with other in-game balance changes so that a whole new meta might wait for players once the patch drops.
It's been a rather eventful August in the VALORANT world. As VCT Champions 2024 channeled everyone's inner competitors, the Night Market stopped by to offer us discounts on varying skins.
When does Vyse release in VALORANT?
Vyse's official release date is August 28. The new VALORANT agent will come out after Champions 2024 concludes.
Alongside Vyse, VALORANT's Episode Nine, Act Two also starts on the same date. When the new patch goes live, VALORANT Competitive Queue and other online functions could become unavailable for a brief duration. Once everything's back to normal, all new content will be in the game.
Even if you prefer sticking with your most played agents, others will experiment with Vyse. The Sentinel brings exciting tools to the battlefield, like an activation-based flash and a slowing trap. Considering Vyse also has a trap with a motion sensor, she might be a menace to deal with during clutch rounds.
Vyse's ultimate ability allows her to make enemies' primary weapons unavailable, which could make up for interesting situations in the game.
How to unlock Vyse in VALORANT
There are four main ways you can use to unlock Vyse in VALORANT.
- Complete the Vyse Recruitment event: Earn 200,000 XP after Vyse releases. This event lasts for 27 days.
- Get an Xbox Game Pass Subscription: Xbox Game Pass owners who link their Xbox and VALORANT accounts together unlock new agents immediately on release day.
- Use VALORANT Points (VP): You can also purchase new agents by using VP.
- Use Kingdom Coins (KC) or Agent Unlock Tokens: When an agent's recruitment event ends, you can unlock them by using KC or Unlock Tokens.
Where is Vyse from in VALORANT?
Vyse is currently presumed to be from South Korea. Riot Games is yet to announce Vyse's nationality officially. Still, the agent was featured in South Korea during her reveal trailer. At the very least, we could assume Vyse to be from Asia. More information regarding Vyse's backstory and lore should become available closer to her release date.
Vyse's abilities in VALORANT
Vyse is a Sentinel Agent in VALORANT who shines in isolating fights. She can easily single out enemies and land game-changing blinds to gain a number's advantage. Vyse also has a clutch ultimate that can tip the scales in her team's favor when used timely.
- E Ability - Arc Rose: Plant a trap that can be strategically placed on surfaces. Vyse can reactivate this trap to blind any enemies in its line of sight. Redeploy at will, but remember - you only have one Arc Rose in your arsenal.
- Q Ability - Shear: Place a liquid metal trap, and when an enemy stumbles into it, a sudden, unbreakable barrier surges up behind them, potentially cutting off their escape. This fleeting wall of metal lasts for a short time, and you only get one Shear for every round.
- C Ability - Razorvine: Launch a cluster of liquid metal that camouflages itself upon landing. At your command, this trap turns into razor-sharp vines, and enemies caught in its range lose a certain percentage of their movement speed and receive damage over time. You get two Razorvine charges every round.
- Ultimate Ability - Steel Garden: After a brief charge-up, this ability temporarily disables the primary weapons of any foes caught in its area. Enemies will need to rely on their sidearms as their main firearms are rendered useless for a few crucial seconds. This game-changing ultimate requires eight points to activate.
