After a rough calendar year in which the competitive scene was slashed, developers were pulled from the title, and new content was few and far between, Heroes of Storm looks to regain momentum in 2020 following what was announced at BlizzCon Friday morning.
At the annual gaming event held at the Anaheim Convention Center, thousands traveled from around the world to celebrate what has, can, and will be coming to their favorite titles.
As for Heroes of the Storm, very little news regarding the game was mentioned in the Opening Ceremony. President of Activision Blizzard, J. Allen Brack mentioned that Deathwing, their most recent and highest requested hero of all-time, will be free to all individuals who purchased a Virtual Ticket for the event when he goes live in the nexus. Further, for the next week, all Heroes of the Storm champions will be free-to-play for every player.
Brack mentioned that fans of the title can play a demo of Deathwing on the BlizzCon floor.
Members of the game's development team will be holding a panel dedicated to the future of the game at 3:15 p.m. PDT in the North Hall.
