Congratulations on becoming the new Superleague champions. How do you feel?
Do Joon “Noblesse” Chae: I didn’t expect to win today, but it means a lot to sCsC and me. Us two are now the first and only players to both win Superleague twice and go to BlizzCon twice.
Seung Chul “sCsC” Kim: It was very difficult to find scrim partners. Most of our practice was Hero League. I'm thrilled we won with such a handicap.
Jin Soo “NacHoJin” Park: A tournament victory was a long way coming for me. My years of waiting makes this achievement all the more meaningful.
Jeong Ha “Jeongha” Lee: After the second loss, I really didn’t think we could win. Coming back to sweep the series 4-2 made me very happy.
Seung Won “Swoy” Kim: I expected us to lose 4-0, but we turned it around and won!
What thoughts went through your head after dropping the first two games? How were you able to recover?
NacHoJin: Morale was obviously low right then, but I think our lack of scrims ended up working out for us. Being so severely disadvantaged going into the series ironically enabled us to keep playing without pressure and focus on the game.
You used to scrim against Tempo Storm. How long did that arrangement last?
NacHoJin: We scrimmed until they got knocked out of the tournament. After that, it became too awkward to ask. I thought that they would need a break from the game. I did ask once, though.
Black kept drafting Alarak but you kept leaving him open. Did you have a plan?
NacHoJin: We expected the pick after Alarak's recent buff. At first, we considered banning him, but then decided not to. It was the right choice. We figured we could hold our own against Alarak as long as we took Malfurion.
How did you prepare for the new map, Braxis Holdout?
NacHoJin: We actually practiced that map only once. We were resigned to losing on it.
TNL used to choke against MVP Black. That was not the case today. What changed?
Noblesse: I always played timidly against Black when on TNL, but never felt that way since joining L5. The lack of pressure allowed me to play with confidence.
sCsC: Losing to Black so many times ended up forming a huge mental burden for us on TNL. L5's aggressive style of play helped me shake that off.
Each map from Game 3 onwards was very neck and neck.
NacHoJin: Jeongha made the Core call in Game 3. I want to thank him for that; no one else had thought of it then. In the following games, we more actively looked for windows to close.
What did you expect of L5, sCsC? You had a hard time putting the team together.
sCsC: Until Jeongha joined the team - he wasn't keen to join at first - I was aiming for quarters or semis at most. But as soon as we played together, I realized we could go far.
Any thoughts on your new positions, sCsC & Swoy?
sCsC: My days on TNL made me lose most of my confidence to play on the front line. But players in Hero League weren’t kind to me either when I picked a ranged assassin. I truly owe everything to my teammates' faith. I really appreciate it.
Swoy: Support was a position I wanted to try for a long time. Many players had recommended the role to me throughout my career. Our having Noblesse was a huge factor too, of course.
Next up is BlizzCon! Thoughts?
NacHoJin: I still can’t believe we’re going to BlizzCon. Maybe it’ll feel real once we’re on the plane. We'll need to find teams to scrim and work on drafts with before heading to America.
Jeongha: I never thought we would get this far. I feel very grateful to sCsC for asking me multiple times to join the team.
Swoy: I actually attended BlizzCon 2015, but not as a player on stage. I’m happy to have sCsC and Noblesse who actually have BlizzCon stage experience.
Any last words?
sCsC: I'm determined to make it to the finals this time.
NacHoJin: It’s been very rough for me since DsA disbanded. I’m so glad to have finally won Super League against all odds. My sincere gratitude to our fans.
