Today, the Dallas OWL team comprised of the current Envy roster, including fan favorites such as Timo "Taimou" Kettunen, Kim "EFFECT" Hyeon and Brandon "Seagull" Larned, revealed its official logo and team name.
The Dallas Fuel sports an almost electric blue as their team color and will be recognized in-game by the Genji skin seen above. The Genji skin features the team's flame logo and blue styling. About a week ago, Shanghai announced their official name and logo and was accompanied by a unique Mei skin. Based on this schedule, perhaps we can see another team unveil their colors next week.
The CEO of Team Envy and Texas native, Mike Rufail, had this to say about the announcement:
"We’re thrilled to bring a championship-caliber franchise to the area with the Dallas Fuel. In choosing a name, we wanted to speak to our Texas roots, connect with the legacy of our partners Ken Hersh and the Hersh Interactive Group, and provide a rallying cry for local fans as esports continues to grow. Fuel accomplishes that, and the Dallas Fuel is a team we’re proud to permanently plant in Texas.”
After an exhibition match in December, the regular season for these teams begins January 10th. The league promises to deliver the highest level of professional Overwatch the world has seen and no doubt production quality to match.
