On Day 2 of the Heroes of the Storm Fall Championship, Europe’s Fnatic and Taiwan’s Please Buff Arthas advanced from Phase 1 Group B. Fnatic went undefeated throughout the day while PBA pulled off a massive upset against eStar Gaming in the Decider.
Chinese powerhouse eStar Gaming had a smooth start to their day, defeating Imperium Pro Team from SEA 2-0. Against Fnatic, however, eStar repeatedly made basic mistakes that eventually led to their defeat. Many wondered what had happened to the best team from China.
In the Elimination match, PBA waltzed past IPT 2-0 by chaining AoE ultimates. PBA’s coordination in Game 2 with Jaina’s Ring of Frost was particularly remarkable and impressive.
eStar and PBA clashed in the Elimination match, with eStar making the interesting decision to ban out PBA's Jaina. Again, eStar repeated small mistakes and needless overextensions until they were unable to come back. In Game 2, eStar seemed to be turning the match around by grabbing a series of early kills, but failed to use their talent tier advantages properly, allowing PBA to edge back into the game. Eventually PBA were able to reverse the experience lead and take a Dragon Knight, with which they ended the game off of a beautiful Void Prison - Devouring Maw - Mosh Pit combo.
