Voidwrought Launches on PC and Nintendo Switch

Game publisher Kwalee and Swedish developer Powersnake have released "Voidwrought," a 2D metroidvania game set in a hand-drawn cosmic horror universe. The game is now available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on the Nintendo Switch.

In "Voidwrought," players explore the ruins of the First Civilization, confronting deities and uncovering ancient artifacts. The game features over 70 enemies, 10 bosses, and more than 30 relics and souls that allow players to customize their abilities and playstyle.

A demo version is available for download on both Steam and the Nintendo eShop. The game is priced at $19.99 in the United States, €19.50 in Europe, and £16.75 in the United Kingdom. All platforms are offering a 20% discount for the first two weeks after launch.

Kwalee and Powersnake have also released a launch trailer showcasing the game's enemies, weapons, and abilities.

"Voidwrought" emphasizes smooth movement and tight controls, according to the developers. The game invites players to descend below a star-scorched surface to explore atmospheric, hand-drawn biomes, ranging from icy tunnels to biomechanical depths.

Kwalee, based in Leamington Spa, has been expanding its catalog of PC and console titles, including recent releases like "Wildmender" and "ROBOBEAT." Powersnake, a team of three developers from Sweden, describes "Voidwrought" as a love letter to the metroidvania genre, inspired by titles such as "Hollow Knight" and "Castlevania."
