The turmoil surrounding Blitzchung's ban after he supported pro Hong Kong protests on stream has not gotten any quieter. As a matter of fact, another protest happened on an official Hearthstone stream. At the end of a Tespa tournament match—a collegiate tournament trying to help students make a living from esports and bring them into the spotlight—the American University team holds up a sign reading: "Free Hong Kong, Boycott Blizz".

The call comes just days after Blizzard decided to punish Blitzchung for on-stream Hong Kong support. The publisher banned him from competing in Hearthstone for a year, kicked him out of Hearthstone Grandmasters—the highest league of competitive Hearthstone—and took away his prize money earnings from the ongoing Grandmasters series.

The punishment has led to widespread anger among the gaming community. On many forums, such as Reddit, and on social media Blizzard has received heavy backlash for allegedly "trying to silence free speech", "siding with China" and "not caring about human rights".

On Twitter, the team captain of Tespa Collegiate series Casey "Xcelsior" Chambers doubled down on his message:

Inven Global has reached out to Blizzard entertainment. So far the company has not given any comments regarding the incident, but according to esports expert Rod "Slasher" Breslau, Blizzard has told other Hearthstone Collegiate teams that there will be no post-game interviews on the official stream anymore for the time being.
