Netmarble Reveals Expanded Chapter 3 in Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Update

Developers for Netmarble’s upcoming action-adventure RPG Game of Thrones: Kingsroad unveiled new details this week in a video update ahead of the game’s full release. The studio provided a look at Chapter 3 content, including the Stormlands—a region ruled by Stannis Baratheon—which promises to expand the narrative originally seen during Early Access.

In the video, the development team detailed plans for integrating player feedback from Early Access into the final release. The developers noted that improvements in multiplayer matchmaking for field boss encounters, specifically the timing and frequency of spawns, are being adjusted to foster a more engaging group experience. They acknowledged that while reducing the frequency may limit the number of attempts players can make daily, the changes are intended to promote more coordinated gameplay.

Additional enhancements in the game’s systems were also discussed. Plans include revisions to the RP (Resource Points) system to ensure that players can earn rewards at a satisfying pace, even during shorter play sessions. The development team is also working on introducing fresh content such as exploration challenges and cooperative missions to maintain player engagement after RP is depleted.

Moreover, the studio confirmed that the game will support additional languages, including Portuguese and Turkish, at launch to cater to a broader audience. The title, set during the fourth season of the hit Game of Thrones series, allows players to create a unique character who unexpectedly becomes the heir to House Tyre—a small noble house in the North. Gamers will have the option to choose from classes reminiscent of roles in the series, such as Sellsword, Knight, or Assassin.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is set for a staggered worldwide launch later this year, releasing on iOS, Android devices, and PC via Windows Launcher. Further updates on the launch schedule are anticipated as the release date draws closer.
