With the end of Hearthstone Masters Tour Dalaran on June 21, the Hearthstone Grandmaster Promotion Standings for Grandmasters 2021 Season 2 have been finalized with the promotion of 12 players up to Grandmaster rank. Let’s see which new faces made it to the GM circuit.

Asia-Pacific region

1. trahison (Japan)

30 points total

• Masters Tour Asia-Pacific: 18th, 7 points
• Masters Tour Montréal: 28th, 7 points
• Masters Tour Ironforge: Top 4, 16 points

In 2020, trahison got two 7-2 finishes with off-meta decks like Highlander Demon Hunter in Masters Tour Asia-Pacific and Control Shaman and Quest Druid in Masters Tour Montréal. In Masters Tour Ironforge, he finished top 4 with his own take on the meta, securing his spot for Grandmasters.

2. Lambyseries (Singapore)

Lambyseries is a familiar face in Grandmasters. He was promoted for 2021 Season 1 but got relegated in his first season. However, his great performance in two Masters Tours was enough to bring him back to Grandmasters. Notably, he brought the unexpected Soul Fragment Demon Hunter to Masters Tour Montréal to win against a former World Champion VKLiooon in the Quarterfinals. 

3. okasinnsuke (Japan)

• Masters Tour Ironforge: Top 8, 11 points
• Masters Tour Dalaran: Top 8, 11 points

Okasinnsuke is another new Japanese player, promoted to Grandmasters after two top 8 finishes this year. Unlike trahison and Lambyseries, okasinnsuke performed well with meta decks in both Ironforge and Dalaran. His round win in the Round of 16 of Masters Tour Ironforge was against ShuiMoo, a Chinese player who later won the most recent Masters Tour Dalaran.

4. grr (Korea)

• 14 points total
• Masters Tour Orgrimmar: 17th, 7 points
• Masters Tour Dalaran: 20th, 7 points

Grr is a Korean player who is less known in the competitive scene than his other promoted colleagues. His tiebreakers were just enough to win the last spot of the Asia-Pacific Grandmasters over Flurry, a former Grandmaster who had the same 14 points. Grr preferred aggressive decks in both Tour Orgrimmar and Dalaran. 

Europe region

1. Gaby (France)

• Masters Tour Asia-Pacific: 17th, 7 points
• Masters Tour Madrid: Top 4, 15 points
• Masters Tour Orgrimmar: 1st, 22 points
• Masters Tour Dalaran: Top 8, 12 points

Gaby is arguably the best Hearthstone player currently in 2021 with an incredible performance in both Ladder finishes and Masters Tours. He gained 56 points over the past six tournaments, which is the highest in any region, good 17 points ahead of the #2, Alutemu (39 points). Gaby is a player who brings the strongest decks in the meta to make the best players and win against all other players with the same decks or off-meta decks. Notably, in Masters Tour Orgrimmar, he sold his lineup to Viper for 10 euros, an EU Grandmaster, a day before the deck submissions. Guess what happened: Gaby and Viper brought the same lineup and faced each other in the grand final. Gaby won the Masters Tour Orgrimmar and made it to the Top 8 again in Masters Tour Dalaran.

2. Bunnyhoppor (Germany)

• Masters Tour Asia-Pacific: Top 4, 16 points
• Masters Tour Ironforge: 19th, 7 points
• Masters Tour Dalaran: Top 16, 8 points

Bunnyhoppor has been performing well in the competitive scene for a long time. He was an EU Grandmaster with a great performance for several seasons. However, luck was not on his side for Grandmasters 2021 Season 1 and he was relegated. At the moment of relegation, he had 21 points with one Masters Tour left to gain more points to be back in the Grandmasters. He's now clutched his run to the Top 16, earning the re-promotion to GM.

3. Floki (Belgium)

• 28 points total
• Masters Tour Ironforge: Top 8, 13 points
• Masters Tour Orgrimmar: Top 4, 15 points

Floki is a surprising new face for EU Grandmasters as he didn't play in any Masters Tours up to 2020. In 2021, he finished top 8 (9-0 in Swiss rounds) in his first Masters Tour and top 4 in his second one. He only played 3/6 Masters Tours to be promoted to the EU Grandmasters, which is amazing given that the EU Grandmasters require much higher points to stay in the top 4.

4. J4YOU (Ukraine)

• 24 points total
• Masters Tour Asia-Pacific: 13th, 7 points
• Masters Tour Madrid: Top 4, 17 points

J4YOU is the last player to be promoted to the EU Grandmasters. In 2020, he finished 13th in Masters Tour Asia-Pacific and top 4 in Masters Tour Madrid, which placed him in first place on the EU Grandmasters promotion leaderboards. Although he did not gain any points in the three Masters Tours of 2021, his great performance in 2020 was enough to secure his spot in Grandmasters.

Americas region

Note: Although justsaiyan leads the Americas GM Leaderboard, he will not be included in this list because he announced his retirement from Hearthstone in March.

1. CaelesLuna (Canada)

CaelesLuna is a new face with outstanding showmanship on streamed games. In Masters Tour Orgrimmar, he finished top 16 with Mozaki Mage, which was known as a “fun and spicy, but bad” deck.

2. McBanterFace (United States)

• 8 points total
• Masters Tour Ironforge: Top 16, 8 points

McBanterFace is a new face to the competitive Grandmasters but already known to the viewers as a Hearthstone streamer. In Masters Tour Orgrimmar, he showed his love to Zephrys, bringing Highlander Druid and Highlander Mage to top 16.

3. Eggowaffle (United States)

• 7 points total
• Masters Tour Montréal: 12th, 7 points 

Eggowaffle is a player known for his performance in Hearthstone Collegiate leagues. He and his teammates from Rochester Institute of Technology won the Fall 2019 Collegiate Hearthstone Championship. He finished #12 in Masters Tour Montréal with two combo decks in his lineup: Malygos Druid and Turtle Mage.

4. DimitriKazov (Argentina)

• 7 points total
• Masters Tour Ironforge: Top 16, 7 points

DimitriKazov is the only South American player to be promoted to the GM this season. He has been consistently playing Masters Tours for several years. He finished top 16 in Masters Tour Ironforge and earned 7 points to take the last spot in the Grandmasters.
