The three teams not qualified for the LCS Summer Playoffs — Counter Logic Gaming, Immortals, and Dignitas — have only one spot to fight over, and because of changes to the season format for the 2020 LCS that removed the LCS Regional Final, the two teams who fail to secure the post-season seed will see their seasons end with the Summer Split.
Misfits and Team Vitality have both been eliminated from post-season contention. In addition, because of format changes made for the 2020 League of Legends European Championship season, failure to qualify for the 2020 LEC Summer Playoffs will eliminate any chance of either team qualifying for the 2020 World Championship.
