On the 16th (KST), FunPlus Phoenix announced that Kim "Khan" Dong-ha has signed with their League of Legends squad. Also, the Season 9 world champions announced that they re-signed their original top laner, Kim "GimGoon" Han-saem.
Despite being a Korean player, Khan spent most of his career in China. However, his career really took flight when he returned to Korea and joined Longzhu Gaming on May 2017. Earlier this year, he joined SK Telecom T1 as their top laner, won both Spring and Summer splits in the LCK, and made it all the way to the semifinals of Worlds, falling to G2 Esports 3-1.
With the mid laner for the team, Kim "Doinb" Tae-sang recently announcing his Chinese residency in the LPL, FPX now have the option to bring in another import to the team. For now, the world champions look to fortify their team with Khan and GimGoon, and the Phoenix prepares to fly above the rest in 2020.
