Afreeca Freecs has signed Jin "Mystic" Seong-jun to the Bot Lane ahead of the LCK 2020 season. The South Korean AD Carry will be playing in his home region for the first time since 2014 after spending five and a half years as part of Team WE in China's LPL.

Mystic debuted as an AD Carry on Jin Air Green Wings Stealth in OGN Champions Winter 2013-2014 before moving to sister team Jin Air Green Wings Falcons. After the Falcons failed to win a game in the HOT6iX Champions Spring 2014, Mystic joined World Elite Academy and temporarily switched to Jungle to help the team qualify for the 2015 LPL Spring Split. Mystic secured the starting AD Carry position on Team WE by March 2015, where he has spent the entirety of his career until now.

Afreeca Freecs announced the move on its League of Legends team's official twitter account, which when translated to English, reads as follows:

Hello. This is Afreeca Freecs. In preparation for the 2020 season, Jin "Mystic" Seong-jun has joined our League of Legends team. Please welcome and support the newest member of our team. Thank you.

Afreeca Freecs qualified for its first League of Legends World Championship in 2018, but struggled mightily in the 2019 LCK Spring Split, finishing in 8th place with a record of 5-13 and barely avoiding relegation. Summer went a lot better for AF; the team finished 11-7 and qualified for the LCK Summer Playoffs as the 5th seed, but lost to SK Telecom T1 in the wild card best-of-three. AF was able to qualify for the LCK Regional Final, but was eliminated by Kingzone DragonX in the 1st round.
