Flamengo eSports Bot Laner Felipe "brTT" Gonçalves is now a free agent. The legendary Brazilian AD Carry made the news known via twitter, including a twitlonger titled 'Futuro' explaining why he was leaving Flamengo and what the next chapter of his career may potentially look look like.

"When I entered Flamengo I remember that the only thing that went through my mind was that I was making a dream that I never had the audacity to dream. I became Flamenguista because of my grandfather, the person who gave me my first ever computer, and thanks to him, I was able to get to where I am this day.

“My kids” from an early age already knows this story, you were present the day I told you that he had lost the fight against cancer. My 2015 victory was dedicated to him, but honestly all the victories of my life have always been. He was the most important person in my life, so being a Flamengo player always meant so much to me.

The Flamengo project came to me without anything definite, and we built together what the team is today. I was the first elite player to drop a CBLOL team, and faced 50 steps backwards, going to the Challenging Circuit out of my own choice. At that time, Challenging Circuit was extremely disrespected, no one cared for it, so all my fans thought I was crazy and giving the biggest mistake of my career.

I did not make a mistake. We reached the Challenging Circuit final, entered CBLOL and went straight to the finals, becoming Brazilian Champions.

It was the first time in the history of our scenario that we saw a crowd so well organized in the stands, shaking the stadium, and singing with one voice.

The rumors were real, there were people wanting to undo our team, and it was a horrible feeling to be training for such an important semifinal, for a gigantic final, knowing that they already had intentions for our future that didn't depend on anything we did.

I have never had as much focus in my life as the training of this last stage, I did not know what would be the end of it, but I refused to accept the idea of leaving Flamengo without honoring the nation, without honoring my fans, without honoring the team shirt I carried on my chest.

I focused so hard, I trained so hard, I worked so hard that one day I realized that I no longer knew what was going on in my own home. One day I arrived early from training and found my wife crying, and despite living in the same house I realized that I had not seen her for a long time. She was thinner, duller, she was going through something she didn't want me to know, and I was too busy to figure it out.

Only when we were eliminated from the World Cup she finally told me that she was fighting depression, and that she could no longer go through it alone.

Nation, I gave everything I could for you. I really struggled over the last two years to return all the joy and love you gave me.

There are a lot of changes in the management of Flamengo in esports, and I don't even know if I can call it Flamengo or if it's just a team carrying its name. But I need to be true to you and say I don't trust the new Flamengo.

My contract ended yesterday and I have decided that I will not be renewing it.

I am open to receive proposals from other teams, to talk, to figure out where I can go, but to be honest, maybe I’ll decide not to be part of any team anymore ...

I needed to open my heart to you and tell you everything that is happening in my head.

Nation, it was an honor to fight for you.
Thanks for everything."

After FLA was eliminated from the 2019 League of Legends World Championship Play-In, brTT was vague about the continuation of his career in a post-game interview on broadcast, but now that more context has been provided, retirement would be understandable. brTT is the face of Brazil for international LoL Esports fans, and his individual performance in the Play-In was nothing to be ashamed of.

However, brTT is still open to speaking with teams outside of his former squad, and should something line up both personally and professionally, the possibility of seeing the prize of Brazil on the Summoner's Rift once again is not out of the question.
