Spanish esports team Origen has announced three new signings on the first day of the offseason. If Riot approves of the acquisitions, former Splyce jungler Andrei "Xerxe" Dragomir, Schalke 04 AD carry Elias "Upset" Lipp and MAMMOTH support Mitchell "Destiny" Shaw all will join the organization founded by legendary mid laner xPeke.
It's a big overhaul for the LEC team, whose Summer Split last year ended with a disappointing eighth place finish. The official announcement of the signing reads: "After the team’s revival in 2019 Origen reached the LEC finals, but eventually missed Worlds. The goal for the 2020 season is to build on the experiences, continue to strengthen the foundation around the team, and to improve the performance on the server."
It looks like the team isn't planning on making future adjustments. At least, to the player roster. The starting lineup for Origen in the 2020 LEC Spring Split will be:
- Barney “Alphari” Morris
- Andre “Xerxe” Dragomir
- Erlend “Nukeduck” Holm
- Elias “Upset” Lipp
- Mitchell “Destiny” Shaw
- Tom Matthiesen
