Shortly after the conclusion of the Worlds 2019 Play-In Knockout Stage, the group draw for the main event's Group Stage took place at the LEC studio in Berlin. Fans who were previously exhausted from an incredible best-of-five series between Splyce and Unicorns of Love were suddenly abuzz with the likely possibilities of the random group draw. Sure enough, things shook down as was expected by the majority fo the LoL Esports community.

Hong Kong Attitude qualified for the Knockout Stage after securing the 1st Seed in Play-In Group C. The #3 LMS seed punched its ticket to the main event of Worlds 2019 with a 3-1 victory over LAT champion Isurus Gaming and was seeded into Group A with Griffin, Cloud9, and G2 Esports.

Splyce made its way to the Knockout Stage through securing the 1st Seed in Play-In Group B. In the final series of the Worlds 2019 Play-In, the #3 LEC seed faced off against LCL champion Unicorns of Love in a five game series that went the distance.

It was a harrowing affair for both sides of the European fanbase, but in the end, Splyce prevailed 3-2 and was seeded into Group B with FunPlus PhoeniX, J Team, and GAM Esports.

Clutch Gaming had a rocky start to Play-In Group A, but secured the 1st seed and was set to face off against TCL champion Royal Youth in the Knockout Stage.

CG's performance in the Knockout Stage was inspired much more confidence than its best-of-1 performances in Group A, and the #3 LCS seed had little trouble sweeping Royal Youth out of Worlds 2019. CG rounded out Group C in the Group Stage seeding, joining Fnatic, Royal Never Give Up, and SK Telecom T1.

Facing #2 VCS seed Lowkey Esports.Vietnam, DWG faltered after being stunned by LKE's signature lane swap. After game 1, the #3 LCK seed recovered and won three straight games to eliminate Lowkey Esports from the World Championship. DAMWON was seeded into the last spot in Group D with Team Liquid, Invictus Gaming, and ahq e-Sports Club.

The 2019 League of Legends World Championship Group Stage kicks off on Saturday, October 12 in Berlin, Germany at 14:00 local time. #2 LEC seed Fnatic will face off against the 1st seed from South Korea's LCK, SK Telecom T1.
