DAMWON Gaming head coach Micro will be missing Play-ins due to health issues.
DAMWON Gaming departed to participate in the 2019 LoL World Championship Play-ins. While all the players headed to Berlin, head coach Kim “Micro” Mok-gyeong wasn’t able to depart with the players due to health issues.
In an interview with the media, Micro said, “I won’t be able to depart with the players on the same plane due to health issues. It has been decided yesterday after putting in a lot of thought.”
He explained more so that there would be no misunderstanding, “It’s really not because of internal issues within the team, we have no problems. I’m the head coach, and at the same time, I’m practically the owner, so my not being able to be with the players due to problems itself doesn’t make sense.”
However, Micro also asserted the possibility of himself not being able to depart for Worlds after the Play-ins. “If things get better, I may be able to take part after the Play-ins, but I can’t say for sure yet. What’s for sure is that I won’t make Play-ins.” Lastly, he assured the fans not to worry, “We still have coach Kim Jeong-soo, and I’ll be helping in all ways possible from Korea.”
DAMWON Gaming will be playing their first match at the 2019 LoL World Championship Play-ins against Royal Youth on the 3rd of October.
