EUnited qualified for ESL One: New York 2019 through winning the North American Qualifier for the event at the end of June. G2 Esports followed suit at the European Qualifier in early July, andOpTic Gaming qualified for ESL One New York through winning the GG.Bet Invitational, which took place in Europe in the beginning of August.

It should be noted that while FaZe Clan's current roster only consist of three members, several leaks leading ESL ONE NY point towards FaZe acquiring the contract of coldzera  from Immortals Gaming Club. Coldzera is currently sitting on the bench for MiBR, and was a starter for hte team previously, including under the coaching of current FaZe coach YNK for the last five months of 2018.

Coldzera should be locked and loaded with FaZe for the event, but no official announcement has been made by FaZe Clan, ESL, or Immortals. However, coldzera is not an In-Game Leader, leaving FaZe's known roster as the only team without an active IGL. Broky is is a trial player on FaZe's roster, but his IGL potential is currently unkown.

Other notable roster annotations are OpTic Gaming's TeSes and cajunb, both of whom are currently uncontracted, and kioShiMA will be playing as a stand-in for G2 veteran Richard "shox" Papillon as he did throughout the European Invitiational.

Update: FaZe Clan announced that the team had officially added coldzera as their new 5th for CS:GO. Coldzera will be eligible to play for FaZe at ESL One NY 2019.

The matches in Barclays Center will be played at 1:30pm local time on both days of the weekend, but the doors open four hours prior to match start. On Saturday at 10:30am, fans who arrive before the matches will be treated to the Finals of the second season of the 2019 ESL Mobile Open. Where, How, and Who to Watch

ESL One New York 2019 will be streamed primarily on ESL's official site stream. In addition, the event will have streams on Twitch in English, Russian, and Spanish; English and Russian broadcasts will also have will also have secondary streams. Youtube and Facebook will both have streams for the event streams in English.

The favorites for the event are Astralis and Team Liquid. Team Liquid enjoyed the most dominant run in CS:GO history this summer, winning seven straight events from June 2nd-September 6th, including the first four consecutive Major titles ever.

However, Astralis took the opportunity earlier this month at the Starladder Berlin Major to remind everyone why it is considered the greatest CS:GO team of all-time, reclaiming their throne by winning the event and sweeping TL out of quarterfinals on its way. If both teams are to play at their respective peaks, ESL One New York should be a proper decider for who will end 2019 as the best team in CS:GO
